Aquarius Sailing Club is a membership club, affiliated to the RYA (Royal Yachting Association). We aim to promote dinghy sailing in a safe, family friendly environment. There are races every Sunday, complemented by a lively programme of social events throughout the year and our licensed bar is open on Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons. New members are always welcome, with or without sailing experience. The club is run by its members and everyone is encouraged to help.
We are situated on the Middlesex bank of the River Thames, between Molesey and Sunbury locks. The club was founded in 1948 on the site it enjoys to this day. We have always been a dinghy sailing club, but our members also enjoy kayaking, canoeing and paddle boarding. We have a number of club boats available on a first come first served basis, free of charge, which include Lasers, Laser Picos, Toppers and Bosuns.
Each year, members are required to do a few duties on Sundays, which involve running the racing for the day, manning the patrol boat, and making sure there are enough cakes for tea!
We are a self sufficient club, which means we look after everything ourselves. If something is broken, we fix it. We have regular work parties each year, to make sure the club is in good shape for wintering down, or spick and span for the coming season. These are always enjoyable, with honest labour, good company and delicious food.
We have a clubroom overlooking the river, a licensed bar, galley kitchen, changing facilities with shower, and a large patio deck with tables and chairs.
After visiting, please speak to an existing member about joining. Prices are annual.
NEW MEMBERS ARE REQUIRED TO PAY AN ADDITIONAL JOINING FEE OF ONE YEAR'S SUBSCRIPTIONS, WHICH WILL COVER THEM FOR THE SECOND YEAR
